On 23 February 2026, a delegation from the Management for Development College (MDC), Thaksin University (TSU), Thailand, led by the management team, faculty members, and selected students from the TSU-MDC Student Exchange Program (Academic Year 2025), conducted an academic visit to the main campus of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah Darul Aman.

The visit was officially coordinated by UUM LEADS and the Co-Operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI), Universiti Utara Malaysia. The delegation was warmly welcomed as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

Key Highlights of the Academic Visit:
•    Agricultural Innovation Study: The delegation visited the IPR - INTAN Chilli Fertigation Project Farm. Participants attended a specialized briefing and took a guided tour to study modern agricultural management and fertigation techniques.
•    Official Welcoming Ceremony: An official ceremony was held at Seminar Hall C, UUM Convention Complex. The event commenced with the rendition of the Malaysian National Anthem, 'Negaraku', and the UUM official song, 'Biru Warna'.
•    Corporate Presentations: Both Thaksin University and Universiti Utara Malaysia presented their respective corporate videos to foster mutual understanding of their institutional visions.
•    Keynote Welcome: Dr. Juhaida Abu Bakar, Executive Director of CEDI, delivered a welcoming speech to the Thai delegation, emphasizing the importance of international student exchange.
•    Knowledge Exchange & Networking: The program included an interactive Q&A session, a souvenir presentation ceremony, and a group photo opportunity. The visit concluded with a lunch and networking session at the CEDI Dining Hall, allowing students and faculty to build professional relationships.

This academic visit serves as a vital platform for TSU-MDC students to gain international exposure and high-value learning opportunities. Both universities look forward to further enhancing their partnership through future academic and cultural exchanges.
